Services

In-flight services

Etihad offers high quality in-flight entertainment, very good comfort for the traveler.

It uses a modern AVOD (audio-video on demand) system o its new aircraft. Passengers get access to over 350 hours of audio & video material.

The airline's newest aircraft (Boeing 777-300ER, Airbus A340-500, the 2 zone Airbus A330-200 and the 3 zone Airbus A330-200) are equipped with a plug & play system, which works based on the USB technology. This allows passengers to watch their own videos and listen to their own audio files.

RJ 45  and RCA sockets are also installed on these airplanes. This allows laptop connection. Ideal for businessmen who need to work even when travelling.

Some airplanes also offer in-flight telephone services.

Diamond Zone (First Class)

This is the equivalent to the standard first class service and is only available on the Airbus A340-500 and the newer Airbus A330-200. But, the airline is working on installing such seats and additional equipment on Airbus A340-600 as well as on other long haul aircraft that'll be delivered in the future.

This service includes: driver service at selected destinations, 180 degree rotating seats with recline into 6 ft  and 8 in long fully flat beds, "privacy shell" for each suite and direct aisle access. The seat is equipped with a built-in suit carrier, a mini bar, a fold-and-swivel meal table, a mirror, a magazine rack, a reading light, a desk lamp, a 23 in video screen.

The seat has a built-in massage facility and has a specially created headrest.

On Airbus A340-500 aircraft a small seating area and a bar is located at the front of the cabin.

Meal is served in china, quality glassware, in some cases silver-plated cutlery.

The food is prepared by prestigious chefs.

Pearl Zone (Business Class)

This class is available on almost all aircraft, except the Boeing 767-300, the Airbus A340-300, the older Airbus A330-200. This class, destined to business travelers primarily also offers driver service, while the seat can also be reclined into a fully flat bed, its length is 6 ft 1 in. Only 7 in shorter than the one at the superior class (Diamond Zone). Other equipment provided are individual reading lamp, magazine rack, massage facility, a swivel-and-fold meal table, a coat hook and a 15 in screen (8 in smaller than the one at the superior class).

The meals here are also prepared by prestigious chefs.

Coral Zone (Economy Class)

Seats in this zone have lumbar support, headrests, footrests, seat pitch of up to 33 inches and screens of 10,4 in diameter.

Even so, the Coral Zone has superior services and equipment, when compared with most other airlines. On Etihad, economy is like business class on most other carriers.

Destinations

44 cities are served by Etihad, more are in view for the years 2007 and 2008. The airline wants to penetrate deeper into the Asian and the European markets, with special attention given to India and major European hubs.

Fleet

Very variated types of airplanes are used by Etihad. Mostly long range ones, as presented in the table.

The Airbus A300s are used exclusively for cargo.
