Extension towards Brazil and fleet modernization
LAN Airlines is trying to extend itself into the Brazilian market, a which has an important potential in South America.
Argentina is another important market, where LAN has entered recently (in 2005) and serves both domestic (Argentinean) and international destinations. A further extension into this market is expected in the coming years.
LAN has modernized its whole Boeing 767 fleet and is purchasing new long range aircraft which means that more long-haul flights will be introduced to new destinations. Perhaps cities in Europe, the USA, Asia or Australia will be targeted by LAN.
