Tiger Airways - airline information
General information
Tiger Airways is a Singapore-based low cost airline, subsidy of the local giant, Singapore Airlines. It is Singapore's largest low cost carrier and it was created following Ryanair's example. Tiger Airways is in a way supporting the mother company in facing the threat posed by budget carriers. It's a well spread practice among major airlines to create their own low cost carriers, as subsidies. Most shares of Tiger Airways are owned by Singapore Airlines and more than 16 % is in the hands of Ryanair stakeholder and founder, Tony Ryan.

Tiger Airways flies its jets to Southeast Asian destinations, among the most important destinations (except Singapore) are: Bangkok, Macau, Manila, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City).
