Belgium plane tickets & flights
Renowned cultural travel destination in Western Europe. Might not need much presentation... Belgium is an economically powerful and politically highly important country (NATO's headquarters and many EU institutions are based here), despite the small area. Of course, Belgium is also famous for its sweets, such as the gaufre. And now instead of making you hungry, we turn to make you better documented in the domain of air travel.
Domestic flights Flight possibilities exist between Anvers (Antwerpen), Liège, Brussels (Bruxelles), but it's perhaps a better idea to hit the road. You'd waste your time at the gates, boarding and then transferring. The price isn't worth it either. A short drive would cost you far less in a rental car or you could take a bus from one city to another.
International flights Intense air traffic reaches Brussels (Bruxelles), the national capital where many European low cost airlines roam. Some have even installed bases at the Charleroi Airport, which is far south from Brussels. Belgium is one of those European destinations that you can easily reach by airplane. Also due to the fact that it has a central location, stuck between France, Germany, Holland and Britain is not far away either.
Airlines serving Belgium
Here are the most important indigenous carriers. Interestingly most of Belgium's air traffic is due to foreign carriers or foreign-owned/subsidized/operated airlines. Since the flag carrier Sabena has went bankrupt, the low cost airlines have gained a boost.
Abelag Aviation Operates primarily charter, air taxi and various other on-request flights.
Brussels Airlines Subsidiary of Lufthansa based at Brussels Airport. The number of destinations is huge considering the small size of Belgium: 76 own and 128 including codeshare destinations. Brussels Airlines operates flights extensively to Africa (including many daily flights to Sub-Saharan destinations), Israel and of course Europe
Thomas Cook Airlines Charter airline based in Brussels. Flies from Brussels, Bruges and Liège. 6 airplanes have serves 68 destination in late 2009.
VLM Airlines VLM Airlines is owned by the Air France - KLM group and is headquartered in Antwerp/Anvers in Belgium. Despite this, it only has a hub in London, UK. Destinations: Antwerp/Anvers (Belgium), Nantes and Strasbourg/Strassburg (France), Hamburg (Germany), Saint Peter in Jersey and London and Manchester (UK), Findel Airport (Luxembourg), Amsterdam and Eindhoven and Rotterdam (Netherlands).
Various other carriers No need to enumerate. Belgium can be reached from almost all European capitals and a large number of big cities. Brussels Airport serves as hub for: Abelag Aviation, Brussels Airlines, European Air Transport, Jet Airways, Jetairfly, Thomas Cook Airlines. In 2007 the airport has receive well over 17 million passengers.
