Obtaining affordable airline tickets to specific destinations
North America:
USA: Here's the home of the World's largest low cost airline, SouthWest Airlines, if you are travelling within the USA, then try it out, the also offer discounts for elderly people (but only to US residents). SouthWest serves the southwestern part of the country, as its name says. They have incredibly low airline ticket prices. Then there's JetBlue, another low cost airline from the USA. They have very good in-flight comfort, they offer free snacks and have good in-flight entertainment. Their comfort is superior to most economy class flights. Of course, also check the big players in the business, especially on long haul flights: Delta (operates from its hub in Atlanta, flies most routes to Europe), NWA - NorthWest Airlines (flies most Pacific routes), American Airlines (the World's biggest airline, operates to more Latin American destinations than any other US carrier), there's also Continental and United Airlines. Canada: Air Canada is the country's only large airline and it should be just enough for you in order to find good connections with the rest of the World. This airline is well known for its high comfort standards and medium airfares.
Europe:
France: France is the target of many low cost airline sin Europe. You can fly to France with all important low fare carries on the continent. Of course, us airlines and the French flag carrier, Air France all serve Paris and the other large cities. In order to spend less on airline tickets to France, we recommend you the following airlines, depending on routes: Delta (from the USA), Air Canada (from Canada), any low cost airline from Europe (primarily easyJet, WIZZ Air, Ryanair). Germany: Lufthansa, Air Berlin and German Wings are the 3 main carriers you should check for cheap fares. They all fly to important European cities and they have often cheaper fares than other carriers that fly to Germany. The country has many large cities and travelling between them by road or rail can be difficult due to traffic jams, windy roads, even though Germany has the best road system in Europe. Therefore we recommend you to check out the fares of German Wings primarily and then Lufthansa. Hungary: Travel by air to Hungary either with MALÉV - Hungarian Airlines or WIZZ Air, the local low fare airline. This way you will spend less, the local airlines always charge you less than those flying there from outside of the country. Italy: Just like in the case of France, Italy is also highly frequented by low cost airlines form different countries. One of the local Italian budget carriers is Volare, but you should also check their flag carrier Alitalia. Flights to faraway destinations, such as Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa, Middle East are also operated by Alitalia. Ireland: Irish low cost carrier Ryanair and national airline Aer Lingus ensure excellent connections with Europe. Many US flights are operated via Dublin to Europe because of it being the closest European city with a large airport. Reaching Ireland at low price should not be difficult at all, they are dominated by low cost airlines, not just Ryanair, but rivals too, especially British easyJet. Netherlands: Since Air France has bought KLM, the Dutch national carrier operates under the ownership of the parent company Air France-KLM. However, the KLM brand still exists. This local air carrier is a good place to start looking for airline tickets to and from Holland. There are very good connections within Europe, with the USA and Asia. Spain: Perhaps the favourite destination for European tourists has excellent connections with the rest of the World. Spain has many airports, you can get to most major attractions by flying directly there or to nearby airports and then either by rail or road to the final spot. Iberia is Spain's flag carrier, operates many flights to Latin America. If you are flying from the USA, try Delta, they have the most connections to Europe. Sweden: Fly to Sweden with a low cost airline, if possible. There are plenty of offers and different routes to choose from. WIZZ Air, Ryanair, easyJet should be the top choices for you. But also check Monarch and Fly Be for cheap tickets. SAS, the Scandinavian Air System serves Sweden as a national carrier, it also flies to faraway destinations on other continents. UK: The UK has intense internal air traffic, as well as external. Besides British Airways, there's a multitude of indigenous carriers. We'd recommend you check them all, however, easyJet is more likely to sell you cheap tickets for flights within-, to- and from the UK.
Asia:
Hong Kong: Check Lap Kok International Airport is Hong Kong's gateway to the rest of the World. Japan: Because Japan has an extended Shinkansen (rapid rail) network, internal flights are not as intense as it normally would be for a country with such a population (128 mill), however JAL - Japan Airlines and ANA - All Nippon Airways should be on your list for longer routes, like Tokyo - Osaka, Tokyo - Fukuoka, etc. Skymark and Startflyer, along with Hokkaido International Airlines and Skynet Asia Airways are local low fare carriers, which provide you possibilities to spend less on air trips. Malaysia: One of Asia's leading low cost airlines, Air Asia operates form Malaysia. It can offer cheap alternatives for those budget travelers who want to get a glimpse of Southeast Asian attractions. Malaysian airlines might be another choice, great for long haul flights. Many US carriers also fly to Malaysia, as well as Qantas does from Australia. For those of you who travel from or to Europe, we recommend Lufthansa, it serves the shortest route to Kuala Lumpur and it's tickets are relatively cheap. Thailand: Thai Airways, the flag carrier of this country also serves important internal routes, such as Chiang Mai city and Phuket Island, where foreign travelers roam. Check out their deals, the offer the cheapest alternatives for flying within Thailand. Bangkok's new Suwarnabhumi International Airport also receives numerous arrivals from various major carriers from all round the World. Singapore: Singapore is a multilingual, multiethnic state with exceptional travel attractions. A great place to spend a vacation and a great place to do business as well. Flying to Singapore is relatively easy, the Changi Airport receives arrivals from various major carriers that are based in the eastern part of the planet (Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong, JAL - Japan Airlines from Japan, Qantas from Australia, Thai Airways from Thailand, etc.) and, of course, there's the local airline, Singapore Airlines. Vietnam: There's a low cost airline called Pacific Airlines, which we warmly recommend to those of you willing to travel to Vietnam.
Latin America:
Argentina: There used to be a carrier called LAPA, which has went bankrupt. There's no other low cost airline in Argentina. The only way to find cheap tickets for flights to Argentina is to check the foreign carriers, especially LAN Airlines, which is Latin America's biggest and has multiple hubs, including at Buenos Aires International Airport. Brazil: VARIG, LAN Airlines and a series of foreign carriers fly to Brazilian cities. Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, São Paulo, Pôrto Alegre and other large cities can be easily reached by air with large European and North American airlines. Gol and Bra are Brazil's only low cost airlines. Check them out, they fly to multiple cities within the country and they have lower prices than VARIG. Chile: Chile is an important travel destination for tourists around the World, it has excellent connections with the rest of the planet and it has Latin America's largest carrier, LAN Airlines. Check LAN first for any flight to and from Chile. American Airlines, Iberia and Lufthansa are important foreign carriers that operate flights to Chile. Colombia: Due to security concerns, not many foreign airlines fly to Colombia. If you want to travel to Colombia, check out the deals of American Airlines, the biggest airline in the World that serves more South American destinations than any other US-based carrier. Ecuador: Like Peru and Argentina, Ecuador is also dominated by LAN Airlines. Previously the Ecuadorian branch of the carrier used to be called LAN Ecuador. Mexico: Aeroméxico and Mexicana are the country's main operators. Check them out for cheap fares. Nicaragua: Copa Airlines is a Nicaraguan carrier, run by America's Continental Airlines. Make sure you check them when flying there. Peru: LAN Airlines dominates Peru's air travel market, but foreign carriers from Europe and North America also serve the country to exploit its major touristic potential. Uruguay: Lapsa, Aeromas, Airclass are 3 low cost carriers based in Uruguay. Check them out, maybe you'll find cheap plane tickets. U Air used to be a fourth such carrier, but it went bankrupt. Venezuela: Avensa, American Airlines are the top airlines that fly to Venezuela. Check their offers out, maybe you'll spare some cash on flights.
Middle East:
Armenia: The country has a low air traffic, therefore the Armenian National carrier and Aeroflot (Russian) are just about the only important carriers in the country. There's not much competition between airlines, so the prices are not dropping too much, as opposed to Europe, for instance. Azerbaijan: Local carriers, few European airlines (like German Lufthansa) and, Russian Aeroflot are about the only carriers you'll find where you can look for affordable airfares. Egypt: EgyptAir and foreign carriers serve the country pretty well, but no local low cost airlines exist. You are limited to the choice of conventional carriers. Turkey: Turkish Airways and many foreign, especially European carriers serve this country. Although, none of the major European low cost airlines operate to Turkey, you will find others, among which many indigenous companies: Atlasjet, Corendon Airlines, Free Bird Airlines, Inter Airlines, Izair, Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines, Saga Airlines, Sky Airlines, SunExpress, Tarhan Tower Airlines, World Focus Airlines. UAE: Air Arabia and Jupiter Airlines are local low cost airlines, they are a "must check" when flying to the UAE.

Australia: Qantas is Australia's biggest airline and one of the largest ones in the World. It serves a multitude of international destinations, especially in Asia and the Pacific area. Qantas took over as the only major carrier in Australia after what Ansett Australia has went bankrupt. Prices are lower on airline tickets if you fly with Virgin Blue, a low cost airline based in Brisbane. With them, flying to places like the big cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, even top vacation destinations like Alice Springs shouldn't be too expensive. Virgin Blue also flies to nearby Pacific Islands and New Zealand. New Zealand: Air New Zealand, Qantas, Virgin Blue and Air Tahiti Nui all serve New Zealand, which has a modest international air traffic. Tahiti: This wonderful Island country can be reached best by flying with its Air Tahiti Nui carrier.
