Malta plane tickets & flights
Small Mediterranean island nation with a population nearing half a million. All live cramped on their islands and live mostly out of tourism and related activities. Malta is worth visiting, but getting there is rather difficult even from the mainland Europe. We recommend you to find a cheap way to get to a major airport where direct flights to Malta are operated. You might have to travel to Frankfurt or London and from there to Malta. The best idea is to book the segments separately, not to buy the whole ticket. This way it will usually cost you less. The idea is to buy a plane ticket for a flight to a city "X" where Air Malta or a local carrier that flies to Malta operates. Then buy the other ticket separately: city "X" to Malta. Otherwise complicated flights with many stopovers will drain you financially.
Domestic flights Not applicable.
International flights London, Manchester, Rome, Frankfurt, München, Paris, Brussels and Milano are the most frequented international flights.
Airlines in Malta
Air Malta The national airline. Flies to most major European capitals, check their website for fares and arrival times. Airfares are in general high in comparison with the already popular low cost airlines in Europe.
Various other carriers: Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, easyJet, Emirates, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines , etc In 2008 there were over 3,1 million people who have passed through the gates flying to popular destinations in Europe (especially Western Europe), the Middle East and some cities in Africa. It's easy to reach the major cities from Malta, but the prices aren't as slow as on the continent. The low cost airlines like easyJet and the charter airline Thomas Cook might help you with reducing your expenses.
